Waiting through the Weekend
It's an unusual feeling waiting for your life to change forever.
Bo and I know that the baby could come at any moment now, and as soon as that happens, nothing will ever be quite the same. We're so ready to see what this new life will be like that God has prepared for us. But for now, we are enjoying our remaining days as a family of 2. Here are a couple of pictures we took of one of our last weekends with it just being the two of us.
Pancake Saturday - one of my favorite pregnancy traditions (there have been close to 40 of these Saturdays now!)
Bo stained the deck...
...while I got a pedicure
We cooled off in our neighbor's pool
and an owl came to visit us (Bo got this great picture of a horned owl in our front yard!)
The next bird we hope to see is a stork!

Full Moon
Bo and I've had a little bet going...he thinks the baby will come before his/her due date, and I think I'll go past my due date. Well, tonight is a full moon, so Bo's been eyeing me curiously to make sure I'm not starting to have contractions. I've done some research on-line and the general concensus seems to be that maternity wards are busier during full moons. I suppose if the moon can have an effect on the tides, it can affect the amniotic water as well.
Still though, I think we're more likely to see this full moon tonight...
than this one.

A New Father
I met him in college and was excited to call him "Boyfriend."
He proposed on the steps of Neville Hall at PC, and for the first time, I called him "Fiance."
We got married at Rose Hill, and as I had dreamed for so long, I called him "Husband."
We've been married now for over four years, and one day soon, our little one will call him "Daddy."
Happy 1st Father's Day Bo!

Baby Book
My mother-in-law and sister-in-law gave us a generous gift card to select a baby book, and boy, have we had fun looking at the possibilities. We finally settled on this one and were so excited when it finally showed up at our door step. I love the old-fashioned illustrations and thoughtful poems interspersed throughout the pages. It is a re-creation of a baby book that was published in 1904. We can't wait to fill its pages with the story of our little one!

What will Baby Redmond look like?
For 8 months now, Bo and I have curiously dreamed about this baby, wondering what he or she look like. We did the 3-D ultrasound around 19 weeks, and while we did get a clear image of the back of the baby's head, we still have no images of his or her sweet face. Well, I recently learned about this website that allows you to upload a photo of the baby's parents and it "morphs" the images so you can get an idea of what your offspring will look like.
Here are the two photos I uploaded:
... and this is what "morphed" from our images:
Please tell me that in the history of mankind, no child has ever had to live with eyebrows that size... or Donald Trump hair. And we won't even discuss the serious TMJ issues this child will have with it's jaw! Let's hope Mother Nature is kinder to our children than my computer!

This Wonderful World
Dear Baby Redmond,
You're not even here yet, and all of these people gathered last night to celebrate you. All of these smiling faces are waiting excitedly for you to arrive and they can't wait to love you and teach you about this wonderful world.
I see trees of green, red roses too. I see them bloom for me and you. And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
I see skies of blue and clouds of white. The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night. And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky. Are also on the faces of people going by. I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do. They're really saying I love you.
I hear babies crying, I watch them grow. They'll learn much more than I'll never know. And I think to myself what a wonderful world. Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.
Thank you to the Baileys, Bosdells, Smiths, Davises, and Childerses for such a memorable and oh-so-meaningful evening. We love you guys and can't thank you enough for your support.

Missing Ankles...
Dear Ankles,
I woke up Tuesday morning and was shocked to see that you had disappeared. Without warning! I feel so abandoned, and to make matters worse, my calves are having to do extra work by stretching all the way down into my feet. It looks quite pathetic - a person with no ankles. If you come back, I'll ask no questions regarding your betrayal. In fact, I may throw in a few pedicures to make you feel more comfortable. What's that you say? A foot massage from Bo every night may do the trick? I see. Well, you were having to carry around a lot of extra poundage lately, so I can understand if you got tired of being pushed away. But I promise that if you can stick it out for another 1 1/2 months, you'll be back into those sexy shoes in no time. Yes, the thin strappy ones, even. And I'll be happy to have you back.
Love, Sara

Nesting
We've been busy! Here are a few photos of the projects that have kept us preoccupied.
Bo painted the nursery,
and my mom filled in around the trimwork,
we recarpeted the upstairs,
and Rocky supervised,
Bo & my dad assembled the travel system (with the aid of a couple of beers),
and Bo put together the crib - this is a super-generous gift from my in-laws!
and then we began working on the Ikea dresser (this took 6 hours and a cooler of beer, marriage counseling optional)
and I worked on the window treatments and a bird mobile (both still need some tweaking)
And here's our new favorite room in the house!
McCord or Perrin, we can't wait to show you your new home. We look forward to reading you your favorite books, singing you to sleep, and telling you all about this big, beautiful world that has been waiting for you to arrive.
